Mixed Fortunes for Signature Motorsport in PE

August 2017 - Aldo Scribante Racetrack in Port Elizabeth played host to the Extreme Festival on Saturday, 15 July 2017. Signature Motorsport's determined drivers, all with aspirations of claiming victory, took part in Round 5 of the Sasol GTCs and the Engen Volkswagen Cup.

RACE REPORT: Sasol GTC2

Christopher Shorter (Champion Parts MINI John Cooper Works) claimed a maiden GTC2 victory at the Aldo Scribante Racetrack in Port Elizabeth. Shorter held on to take his first GTC2 victory by only 0.2 seconds ahead of Keagan Masters.

Bradley Liebenberg (Ferodo South Africa MINI John Cooper Works), having dominated three of the last four rounds, was plagued by understeer, finishing 4th in Race 1 and 7th in Race 2.

Clinton Bezuidenhout Signature Motorsport

RACE REPORT: Engen Volkswagen Cup

Devin Robertson (Payen Polo) finished 1st in Race, 3rd in Race 2, and scooped the overall honours for the day at Aldo Scribante Racetrack.

Clinton Bezuidenhout (Glyco Polo) had a fantastic first race of the day, claiming a 3rd place finish, and was unfortunately forced to retire in Race 2.

Matt Shorter (Moog Polo) suffered a mechanical issue in the first race of the day, but still managed a 6th place finish. In Race 2, Shorter managed an 8th place finish - taking the same overall position for the day.

Benjamin Habig (Nüral Polo) lost out after some contact on the opening lap and was forced to retire.

The Signature Motorsport team's next leg of the Sasol GTC2 Championship and the Engen Volkswagen Cup is at Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria on Saturday, 12 August 2017.
