Highlights of the 2016 Stellenbosch Experience

First Car Rental provides transport to #Stellenblog 2016

Good Fellas

May 2016 - Stellenbosch was the host of local and international travel bloggers for a week in April as part of the #Stellenblog 2016 tourism campaign. Bloggers all agreed that the Stellenbosch experience was "incredible".

First Car Rental was the official transport solution company for #Stellenblog 2016, transporting the bloggers on their adventures around the region.

The week was filled with activities that included helicopter flights over Stellenbosch, wine and chocolate tasting, golf, picnics in vineyards, mushroom foraging, MTB rides through the winelands, and eating and drinking at some of the country's best restaurants and wine estates.

The six bloggers will be sharing their stories with hundreds of thousands of readers from around the world, a combined reach of well over 980 000 readers, across a variety of channels and social media platforms.

What the bloggers said:

Luiz Hara (The London Foodie): "With 6 out of the 10 best restaurants of South Africa in Stellenbosch and its neighbouring towns, you will be hard pressed to find a better foodie destination in the country, not to mention the hundreds of wineries along Stellenbosch's wine routes. And unlike London, dining out here at some of the best restaurants in the country does not require a second mortgage - how refreshing!"

Rob Lloyd (Stop Having A Boring Life): "Many people know that South Africa produces some incredible wines but fewer know about Stellenbosch and how it's a beautiful place to visit with lots to do besides indulge in said wines. That said, to visit Stellenbosch and not sample as much of the splendid local wines as possible would be a real shame."

Kiersten Rich (The Blonde Abroad): "Living the European dream... in Africa? With its sidewalks dotted with people lounging at cafes and meandering through the endless boutiques and art galleries, Stellenbosch looks like a quaint European city."

Natalie Roos (#Stellenblog host and Tails Of A Mermaid blogger): "Even if you don't even particularly like wine (what is wrong with you?), you're bound to fall for Stellenbosch. It's got Cape Dutch architecture, views that will literally take your breath away, some of the top restaurants in the country, accommodation options that range from guest houses to luxury boutique hotels and activities that range from golf to mountain biking."
