Carrie Park

Carrie Park claimed her first Sunshine Ladies Tour title in the South African Women's Masters

February 2017 - Both the South African Women's Masters and the South African Women's Open golf tournaments took place in January. First Car Rental was the official transport service provider, providing transport for players and officials for both events.

After an absence of eight years, the South African Women's Masters made a welcome return to the Sunshine Ladies Tour calendar.

The illustrious SA Women's Masters Tournament, which attracted top South African golfers, as well as international players, was won by 19-year-old South Korean golfer, Carrie Park, who kept her calm as she held her own against the charge of veteran golfers, Lee-Anne Pace and Ashleigh Buhai.

The top finishers at the SA Women's Masters were rounded off with Ashleigh Buhai and Kiran Matharu (GBR) five shots behind Park. Western Province amateur golfer, Katia Shaff, won the Sally Little Trophy as the leading amateur in the tournament.

Lee-Anne Pace

Top SA Golfer, Lee-Anne Pace, made history at the 2017 SA Women's Open

South Africa's top golf export, Lee-Anne Pace, made history at the SA Women's Open, becoming the first three-time winner. Pace finished 7 shots ahead of compatriot Ashleigh Buhai. Fellow South African, Stacy Bregman, and British golfer, Rebecca Hudson, finished a further two shots behind.

One of the greatest triumphs of these tournaments is the commitment to the development of women through sport, standing up to the championship vision - "Empowering Women's Golf".

World Sports Promotions hosted a Women's Business Brunch during the SA Women's Masters, celebrating the success of women in sport as well as business.

First Car Rental is proud to be a sponsor of these two esteemed tournaments, continuing in their commitment to empowerment through sponsorship and mentorship.
